"Are you picken' up what I'm puttin' down"? Alright then! Read on....
Just about everybody likes a hint of tint. Men use haircolor to look younger and sexier. Younger clients (even preteens) think it's a changeable cosmetic. Most baby boomers refuse to settle for those grays.
Young Moms need a boost too!
Special attention to young moms - stay looking sexy and youthful! Try a color glazing service and recieve a FREE Haircut!
HEY Guys! Blast your hair with vibrant color!
Chics aren’t the only ones who like getting colorful! The Lads dig color too! Hey Fellas! Get yourself a cut and color service for a special price! (There's NO PLAY for Mr. Grey!) *winks*
Keep on stylin’!
And never stop! Dramatic switches, a little experimentation and of course, the way your hair is styled is the way you put it all together! Are you puttin' down what I'm sayin'?
Who's turning red these days? Everybody!!!
There are red shades available for every skin tone. Your skin has creamy undertones? Then stay warm with copper or golden reds. Less yellow in your skin? Cooler reds are the way to go. (Berry or wine tones are good examples.) With deep skin tones, go deep and stay cool. And experiment with the extremes of light and warmth for lighter skin tones. Let your personality clue you in to the perfect red. For example, an outgoing, expansive and somewhat daring personality can pull off bright, true reds. Ultimately, discover the shade that's right for YOU!
Yes, even gray hair can go red. Just keep it soft!
Refresh your browned-out reds. Over time, reds can "brown-out," and become less vibrant. A glazing service will bring your red back to life in between normal color services. Of if you don’t want to come back to the salon that often, add a glazing service onto your re-touch color appointment and watch those reds POP!
Hair Refresher
End summer dry-outs. Put the gloss back with a series of deep conditioning treatments or try a Crystal Clear Glazing Service that keeps your hair shiney for 28 days!
Color Haircare maintenance tips for Summer and all warm climates or even working under flourescent lighting:
1. Protect your haircolor from sun & florescent damage by using a UVA/UVB leave-in treatment such as REDKEN Color Extend TOTAL RECHARGE to keep fadage at a minimum. REMEMBER, ANYTHING you put onto a wet/damp hair shaft will chemically bond with those water molecules. So just hold the product out at an arms distance, shake it and give your hair a few spritz kisses, comb thru and style! You can leave this product on for 1-3 minutes and rinse out or just leave it in. I recommend leaving it in! Just don't go over kill on spritz kissing your head!
2. Protect hair from dryness by styling without blow drying. Opt for a casual, "tossled-looking" style.
3. Pour water onto a your dry (non-wet) hair before getting in the pool, lake or ocean. A wet barrier doesn't allow all those chemicals, minerals or salts to easily permeate thru a wet hair shaft as opposed to a dry hair shaft. And afterwards, Always rinse your hair with fresh cold water when you get out of the pool, lake or ocean. And lastly, don't forget to shampoo as soon as possible with your color shampoo and condition to keep your hair bangin'!
4. Wear a sun hat. It's the easiest way to keep haircolor from fading.
5. Maintain haircolor. Once a week, use a deep-conditioner that contains a color ingredient to boost and refresh fading color.
6. Style hair for summer by slicking it back with gel and tying into a ponytail, or choose an easy-to-wear bob.
Skin & Harmony:
You wouldn't wear a plaid blouse with striped pants. (So why clash haircolor with skin tone?)
Skin tone and eye color play a big part in choosing a compatible haircolor. The following simple guidelines will help you create a pleasing harmony:
1. Pale skin: Warm skin tones by creating haircolor with gold tones - light golden honey blonde, golden auburn, red blonde, light warm brunette. Avoid very light blonde shades.
2. Light rosey skin: Neutralize and tone down pinkish skin tones by creating soft ash haircolor. Light cool blondes, cool browns and very soft auburns look best.
3. Slightly reddish skin: Concentrate on neutral tonality and avoid all red haircolors. Sandy ash blondes or medium ash browns look best.
4. Dark skin (olive undertones): Keep haircolor dark (Levels 1 thru 4) with golden tonality.
5. Dark skin (pink undertones): Keep haircolor dark (Levels 1 thru 4) with auburn or cool brown tonality. Burgundy browns look good with this skin color.
I never second-guess. I always double-check your color choice with YOUR eye color.
Once I've formulated a haircolor based on YOUR skin tone, I'll verify your choice with eye color. If still in doubt we'll select your color best based on YOUR skin tonality.
1. For blue eyes: Use cooler tones.
2. For blue-green eyes: Use bright, warm tones.
3. For green eyes: Use light red or bronzed tones.
4. For hazel eyes: Use golden or auburn tones.
5. For dark eyes: If skin is dark and sallow, use warm golden tones. If skin is dark and pinkish, use cool brown tones.
The following commentary or soap box diatribe rant is my professional and personal opinion on DIVERSION.
DON'T SUPPORT DIVERSION!!! What is DIVERSION? DIVERSION is when you purchase or find PROFESSIONAL SALON Products sold anywhere besides a LICENSED HAIR SALON. Those products are NOT guaranteed by the Manufacturer if YOU purchase them at a mass retailer/merchandiser such as CVS, TARGET, RITE-AID (Formerlly ECKERD'S), PUBLIX and any other place that IS NOT a SALON! Those aforementioned businesses or Individuals that sell DIVERTED products, SHAME ON YOU! And to all my color clients, I guarantee my services ONLY if you use a PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT(s) - I don't care where you purchase it as long as it's not a diverted product. If you do and your hair becomes 'funky' I will NOT take responsibility for your choices. Please just buy your salon juice and hair puddin products in Salons NOT Retail Stores. Thank you. --Pj Suttle
